Drawer Liner Ideas – A fantastic place to start decluttering your kitchen is to acquire the kitchen drawers arranged. They are not often seen (assuming they can shut!)

First, there are a few general guidelines that will allow you to decide what to keep and what to eliminate or move to some other storage area. This is based on how long it was since you used an item:
- Over a year: Get rid of that clutter! If it has been over a year there should not be any reason to keep it.
- Nearly 1 year: You need to probably consider getting rid of everything it is – but you may want to keep it if it is used for vacations. These things can be safely transferred from the “active” section of your kitchen and stored somewhere more long term if just used yearly.
- 6 months: Again, you probably want to check at getting rid of these items unless there is some recurring date that happens a few times a year.
- 1 month: These things need to be considered for a choice to be made. Maybe they can be transferred to a more long term storage area if they’re in a “high traffic” drawer. Some of these things may also need to be lost.
- 1 day per week: These things constitute the most significant part your kitchen and should be set in the drawers simplest to get and nearest to where they’re used. These are the things such as silverware, salt & pepper, mixers, etc..
Begin with the drawer you use the most. For most of us this is going to be the silverware drawer. Follow the following steps to Receive your silverware organized:
- Empty the drawer out
- Wipe out the inside so that you’re starting with a fresh drawer
- Get a silverware holder to different and keep utensils arranged
- If you don’t have one or don’t want to purchase one, use a small box, strips of cardboard, or other approach to make dividers that will keep your distinct utensils split.
- Decide where staying things go: do you really need to keep everything that has been in the drawer? Can it go with other like things, or does it need to get given or thrown away?
This simple act of organizing your silverware drawer can help save you time and possible hand injuries; I have skewered my finger several times on forks and knives in drawers – doing that several times has left me a life long lover of silverware holders!
Tupperware / Plastic containers
Most of us use some type of small to mid sized storage containers on a nearly daily basis. Place these containers in simple to get shelving or drawers units and pile them on themselves. It means to take like containers and nest them along with such as containers and also to do exactly the very same with the lids. This will help save you some space and get items that are comparable grouped together.
If you don’t have a spice rack, or don’t want to take up space in your kitchen surfaces, it is possible to save you spices in a drawer. The trick is to be certain that this will not develop into an overflowing container that whatever you can not make your mind up about goes into.
A fantastic idea would be to take a look at what’s at the drawer since you go to place something in it and apply the time rule that was discussed previously. If something has not been used in a long time do yourself a favor and toss it! Are there many copies in the Shop? Get rid of some of them! Keeping this drawer manageable will make it even more handy and helpful whilst preventing it from becoming a centre for clutter.
