BioA piano prodigy composing and performing since age 4, Teresa Lee (vocals/keyboards) studied opera on a scholarship at the University of Virginia. In 2004, her passion for the stage led her to New York. While playing acoustic shows at NYC's The Bitter End, she met Patrick Moloney (guitar) the very week he moved from Dublin. Having just come off a European tour with traditional Irish band Amadin, Patrick was eager to return to his roots making rock music and read to make his mark on the US rock scene.
Through mutual friends, the duo met Jack Koch (bass); a professionally trained artist and deisgner sought after by numerous local bands for his skill on the bass and ability to work a crowd. To complete the rhythm section, Jack brought in his high school band mate Chip Thomas (drums). Chip was born to play the drums, having gone as far as Africa to find inspiration and to perfect his craft. One week later, the band played their first gig as PaperDoll. Within months, they gained a loyal following, and continue to bring down the house everywhere they play -- the Vans Warped Tour, CBGBs, B.B. King's, Crash Mansion, and The Knitting Factory, to name a few. Night after night, sold-out audiences are raving about PaperDoll.
In April of 2009, Jack left, and Paperdoll brought in veteran bass player Steve Paelet to round out the rhythm section.
Talented and well-polished, the multi-faceted group is known for high energy shows and blending edgy instrumentation with catchy hooks and refreshing vocals.
Breaking NewsCheck out our new music video! We shot this a couple of weeks ago at a photo studio in New York with director Court Dunn (http://www.myspace.com/restlessfilms). We shot it in a day -- all the takes are straight through, with breaks in between for t-shirt changes, and pizza. We love how it came out! :-)
